Andrew J. Gelman, D.O.

Dr. Andrew Gelman is a Board certified (1988) member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. After graduating from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, he remained in Philadelphia, completing an internship at Metropolitan Hospital, then on to Albert Einstein Medical Center for a 2 year residency in surgery. In addition, he completed 4 years of Orthopaedic training which included pediatric Orthopaedics at Philadelphia's Shriners Hospital and the Jefferson Hand Center.

Dr. Gelman is a past president of the Delaware State Osteopathic Medical Society. Presently he is on staff at the Christiana Care Health System and St. Francis Hospital in their respective Departments of Orthopaedic Surgery.

Dr. Gelman is a member of the American College of Sports Medicine, the Medical Society of Delaware, the Philadelphia and Delaware Orthopaedic Societies, and the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society.

Active in athletics as a participant as well as an observer, Dr. Gelman has completed many races over the years including the Boston Marathon, and continues his love of running by jogging regularly. Currently he is beginning his second season as a Lacrosse Official in Delaware.
